Update for May

 

Recruit Active PC’s for a Strong Grassroots Base

  • Organize great D8 meetings and special events

  • Present a professional and informed image

  • Educate PC’s on roles, responsibilities, and how to enlist other PCs.

  • Create a strong volunteer base and organize the workload through working committees

  • Get more ‘non-activist’ Dems in party activities

  • Bring in high profile speakers

Update

  • PC’s increase from 32 to 78

  • Meetings continue to draw with great guests.  Combined with two clubs we average 140 people a month. 

  • Planning is underway for a September 22 PC training for Maricopa County.

  • Volunteer base now up to nearly 50 people with 3 active committees and 3 getting started.

  • More outreach to Dems previously uninvolved by inviting them to D8 events.

Develop Candidates for All Positions

  • Utilize State e-mail responses of potential candidates

  • Develop strong PR for Dems; never allow the Republicans alone to form the issues and define us

  • Promote cooperation/communication between the District, County and State

  • Promote candidates ASAP

  • Help support and build campaign staffs

  • Recruit Campaign managers

  • Network more effectively (especially e-mail)

Update

  • Through cooperation with state party, D28 sent personal invitations to all Dems from D28 who responded that they were interested in becoming candidates.  Several responded very favorably and a reception for 55 candidates and campaign workers was held in July.

  • Campaign volunteer database developing.

  • E-mail database is now at about 250.

Get Out The Vote/Registration

  • Work every precinct

  • Develop writers group to get word out to media

  • Become involved in local issues

 

Update

  • PC strategy session planned for June meeting to have each precinct active.

  • New PCs getting letters to ed published.

  • Volunteer base being identified

  • City Council people attend D28 meeting

  • ISSUES 2002 Town Hall on September 13th.

Develop Strong Financial Base

  • Raise funds to support candidates

  • Develop events with strong popular appeal

  • Increase party awareness (mailing, e-mail, etc.)

  • Create a finance committee

Update

  • Best fundraising year ever! Foothills Club set new standards for Club fundraising.

  • Major event fundraiser planned for Sept.

  • Finance comm. formed and meeting in July.
